Dallas stop scheduled for Sept. 5 at Gallerie Noir

Didier Legros, the master of kinetic art, and Timothy Oulton, the master of handcrafted furniture, have combined their artistic genius for a world tour showcasing two of their masterpieces: Legros’ kinetic sculpture “Chaos” and Oulton’s trademark handcrafted furniture.

The 2013 World Tour Exhibition of “Chaos” kicks off in Dallas with an opening party on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gallerie Noir, located at 1525 Dragon St.

“Chaos” is described as 25 linear feet of “fascination by movement.” The piece features 50 bouncing balls weaving through 5 separate units along a maze of tracks, lifts and coils using only gravity and the laws of motion. The installation also features one of Timothy Oulton’s popular leather sofas.

Legros has created contemporary kinetic sculptures and framed art for more than 10 years. Inspired by daily life, the French native’s work showcases a streamlined vision of natural laws.

Timothy Oulton, Founder and Creative Director of his eponymous brand, is a master of reinvention and pioneer of design. Handcrafted with only the best traditional techniques and fabrications, each Timothy Oulton piece is inspired by the past but reconceived from a contemporary perspective, producing a collection that is uniquely authentic.

Located in the Dallas Design District, Gallerie Noir features a highly-edited collection of paintings, sculptures, photography and art installations along with “historical modern” furniture and home accessories. Each piece is hand-selected by interior designer and gallerist Melissa Enriquez.
